About Us: CAP Furniture specialises in manufacturing high-quality timber and steel furniture for individuals with disabilities. We are dedicated to creating functional and durable products that enhance the lives of our customers. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Furniture Assembler to join our workshop team.
Position Summary
As a Furniture Assembler, you will be integral to the manufacturing and assembly of our furniture products. Your responsibilities will include efficient assembly, maintain stock levels, and conducting final quality checks to ensure products meet our high standards before dispatch.
Key Responsibilities:
Assembly & Fabrication:
Assemble tables, chairs, and various timber equipment.
Check steel frames for squareness prior to assembly.
Sand and coat timber products as required.
Sew upholstery to a high-quality finish.
Quality Control: Perform thorough quality checks to ensure all products meet required standards.
Inventory Management: Monitor and report low stock levels to facilitate timely reordering.
Production Management: Ensure timely and accurate assembly according to job specifications.
Problem Solving: Efficiently troubleshoot and resolve assembly-related issues.
Logistics Support: Assist with packing finished products for dispatch.
Delivery of furniture: Delivering furniture to customers across Southeast Queensland (expected 1d per week).
Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Owner on job status, stock levels, and identify potential bottlenecks or design issues. Offer feedback for process and assembly optimization.
Safety & Environment: Maintain a safe and healthy working environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
Qualifications/ Skills:
Proven ability to work effectively with hands and operate various power tools, including table saws, routing equipment, and band saws.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate well within a team.
A proactive "can-do" attitude and a willingness to learn.
Commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision in a dynamic small business environment.
Open manual driver's license will be highly regarded.
Ability to lift and manoeuvre items up to 25kg regularly and stand for extended periods
