Are you a experienced cadastral surveyor looking for work life balance?

Looking for flexible working arrangements and a great supportive team?

Maybe even a 4 day work week?

Then this is the role for you.

The role offered is to join our survey team as a valued team member. You will empower the company with both project surveying capabilities as well as technical input & help with our quality assurance program. As Cadastral Surveyor for Sonto, you will join a team of highly proficient registered surveyors, draftspersons & project coordinators to help build Sonto to become an enduring and respected survey company.
We’re on the lookout for a talented Registered Cadastral Surveyor (SBQ) to join our team. This role is designed with flexibility in mind — you can balance field and office work or lean into a more office-based focus if that suits you better.

You will use your experience to review cadastral project requirements including DAs, complete surveys both field and office based tasks, carrying out QA checks on projects carried out by the survey team, provide training and direction to graduate and associate surveyors & provide cadastral technical input on the broader company services.

We’ve built a strong foundation within our Cadastral & drafting teams, all working together to deliver consistently high standards across our service lines. We’re now looking for someone who can step in and complement this group — someone with a practical mindset, strong attention to detail, and a passion for passing on their knowledge.

The Role
As a key member of our cadastral team, you'll play an important role in both delivery and technical oversight. You’ll contribute to high-quality outcomes through:

Project delivery – office-based cadastral work & project coordination

QA of plans and checking compliance with DA conditions

Mentoring and supporting our junior and graduate team members

Providing technical advice to help shape our methodologies and processes

Contributing to quoting and scoping conversations

Communicating effectively with both clients and internal teams

You Might Be a Great Fit If You...

Have 10+ years of surveying experience with a strong cadastral background

Hold SBQ registration with Cadastral Endorsement

Are confident in cadastral reductions, drafting, titling, and QA processes

Have strong communication skills and enjoy working in a team

Have experience with plan sealing (a bonus, but not essential)

Are looking for a supportive, flexible environment where you can thrive
