About The Opportunity
We’re looking for a strategic, community-minded leader to shape the future of waste and recycling services in our region. This role is central to how Council delivers essential environmental and public health services for the Bundaberg community, today and into the future.
As Branch Manager, you’ll:
- Lead the strategic and operational delivery of waste, recycling, and environmental and public health services.
- Drive initiatives that reduce landfill and promote circular economy outcomes
- Build strategic partnerships and identify commercial opportunities that strengthen Council’s sustainability goals
- Provide strategic leadership and trusted advice to Council, elected members and staff
- Provide steady leadership as the Branch navigates evolving sector priorities and future change

About You
You are a confident and values-driven leader who brings:
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental health, waste management or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
- In-depth understanding of Queensland’s legislative and policy environment in waste and environmental services
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead through change and cultivate a positive culture
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex budgets, deliver results, and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- A collaborative mindset with a track record in building partnerships and driving innovation in service delivery
