Join a growing retail and franchise business as our dedicated Payroll & HR Advisor. This is a hands-on and autonomous role where you'll manage payroll operations and provide generalist HR support across the business. You'll be the go-to person for payroll queries and key contact for our external payroll provider, while also supporting onboarding, compliance, and day-to-day HR coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end payroll function (fortnightly and off-cycle), in partnership with external providers
• Respond to payroll queries with a customer-focused approach, ensuring timely and clear communication
• Manage employee onboarding/offboarding and maintain accurate payroll and HR records
• Partner with finance to ensure accurate reporting, including PAYG, superannuation, and audit requirements
• Monitor award changes and government updates, applying changes as needed
• Provide policy, award, and legislative advice to managers and support ad hoc HR initiatives
• Assist with recruitment tasks: posting jobs, screening, interviews, references, and onboarding
• Administer Parental Leave and Workers Compensation processes
• Process and code payroll/HR-related invoices accurately

About You:

• 2+ years’ experience in end-to-end outsourced payroll processing
• Experience with Employment Innovations / Employment Hero or similar platforms
• Knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, modern awards, and HR compliance
• Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working independently and managing competing deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with retail environments and rostering/time & attendance platforms
• Intermediate MS Office skills
