- Clerk Grade 11/12 – Salary from $145,378 up to $168,130 per annum plus super and leave loading

About the Role
This role focuses on leading and managing high quality scientific research for fisheries stock assessment. As the Research Leader Stock Assessment, you'll ensure studies meet world-class standards and inform crucial decision-making. This involves establishing rigorous processes, securing external funding, and effectively communicating findings to a wide range of stakeholders. Additionally, you'll be managing and mentoring a multi-disciplinary team to achieve these vital scientific goals.
About You
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
- PhD level qualifications in a relevant field with extensive experience in fisheries assessment and sustainable management.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage senior scientific teams to deliver world-class research.
- Highly developed analytical skills, including data curation, modelling, and computer programming.
- Expertise in identifying research priorities and securing external funding.
- Exceptional communication skills to convey complex scientific findings to diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated knowledge of NSW commercial fishing practices and species biology.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence and willingness to travel regularly for work purposes.
