Glide Products is a privately owned Western Australian company and operates from its factory and office in Wangara Western Australia. Established in 1974 and ISO 9001 certified, Glide is one of Australia's leaders in the manufacture of powered and manual wheelchairs.

Due to operational requirement, we are seeking a Production Factory Hand to join the team. This is a crucial role in supporting the production team by performing various manual tasks across different production areas. These tasks include upholstery, fabrication, assembly, machine operation, linishing, and powder coating.

Hours of work will be Monday to Friday 7.15am-3.15pm. Award rates apply. Onsite parking is available.

Key Accountabilities include:

Assist in all areas of production, including bending, pressing, machine operation, and assembling parts for various machines and equipment.

Use drill press equipment to drill or enlarge holes, ream, countersink, counterbore, or tap parts as needed.

Process and control the surface finish of fabricated parts using linishing and other techniques to ensure high-quality results.

Support in powder coating and sand blasting procedures as per established protocols.

Alter, amend, and modify wheelchair fabrics according to specifications.

Cut out patterns, staple, and glue components to fit covers for wheelchairs. Sew various fabrics under the guidance of a supervisor, ensuring high-quality workmanship.

Assemble wheelchair components as per job instructions, ensuring correct features are provided.

Skills and Experience:

Team player with a strong commitment to quality, safety and achieving high levels of productivity

Ability to learn and develop technical and product knowledge

Understanding of work processes and ability to read and follow procedures and work instructions

Demonstrated safe use of electrical assembly hand and power tools

Demonstrated experience in delivering excellent customer service in a quality certified environment

Sound time management skills with a high attention to detail and focus, especially whilst undertaking repetitive tasks

Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels within an organization

Ability to build and maintain internal working relationships which contribute to a harmonious, efficient, and productive working culture

Demonstrated experience using inventory management systems

Desirable Qualifications:

Certificate III or above in Warehousing Operations.

Qualification in RIHAN305D to operate a gantry or overhead crane.
