About The Team
The animal welfare team consists of a team leader and four team members that work closely together in maintaining hospital hygiene standards by supporting several services across the hospital.
Your New Role!
The key purpose of this role is to provide a high-quality hygiene service and assist with the care and safe handling of animals at The Animal Hospital At Murdoch University.
Your Key responsibilities will include -
- Assist with the cleaning and daily maintenance of hospital areas including cages, runs, kitchen, bathroom, laundry and other areas as directed.
- Wash and sterilise equipment including surgical instruments, clinical apparatuses used, food preparation utensils and other equipment as directed.
- Assist with the feeding, bathing and general welfare of animals within the hospital area, as directed.

This Fixed Term (12 Month) | Full Time (37.5 hours per week) attracts a remuneration of $59,148 (pro rata) plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

Selection Criteria:
- Animal handling experience and care.
- Previous experience and/or training, in cleaning and sterilisation of surgical equipment.
- An ability to maintain a clean and hygienic veterinary hospital.
- Excellent organisational, time and workload management skills, including the ability to prioritise workload to meet strict deadlines.
- Highly effective communication, customer service and interpersonal skills, and the demonstrated ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with staff at all levels of the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative, assume responsibility for tasks and projects and to resolve problems.
- Ability to work and contribute to a team environment.
