About the role

DGI Sales Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Wood Machinist to join our team in Smithfield, NSW. As a full-time Wood Machinist, you will be responsible for operating a variety of woodworking machinery to produce high-quality components for our custom cabinetry and furniture products.

What you'll be doing

• Operate wood cutting, shaping, and finishing machines such as saws, lathes, and sanders to fabricate wood components to precise specifications
• Interpret blueprints, work orders, and product samples to determine the most efficient machining processes and sequences
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery to ensure optimal performance
• Work collaboratively with the production team to ensure timely delivery of projects
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to all safety protocols

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Wood Machinist or equivalent role in the carpentry/cabinet making industry
• Strong proficiency in operating a range of woodworking machinery such as table saws, jointers, planers, and CNC routers
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to precise measurements and specifications
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Certification in carpentry or cabinet making would be highly regarded
