Aged Care Reforms Communications and Training Officer

  • Temporary full-time opportunity for 16-weeks
  • Band 6 salary, commencing at $49.41 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation (dependent on skills and experience)

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Aged Care Reforms Communications and Training Officer to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in supporting the successful implementation of the Aged Care Act 2024 and Support at Home reforms by delivering clear, accessible communications and coordinating effective training programs.

You'll work collaboratively across departments and with external providers to ensure that staff, volunteers, responsible persons, and associated providers are well-informed, confident, and competent in adopting these legislative changes.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and publish clear, accurate, and accessible communications tailored to both internal and external stakeholders on aged care reforms.
  • Design and coordinate a range of training initiatives (online and face-to-face) to support capacity-building across staff, volunteers, and associated service providers.
  • Support senior leadership in promoting training and reform awareness across all levels of the organisation and Council.
  • Liaise with external training providers to schedule and deliver engaging training within allocated budgets.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to develop and maintain a central training register and manage training records for all participants.
  • Develop communication materials including newsletters, emails, print collateral, websites, and more.
  • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of communication campaigns and training programs using defined performance indicators.

Key Requirements

  • Qualification in a related field e.g.: communications and/or demonstrated professional experience designing and developing accessible communication collateral, including print and digital content.
  • Ability to read, absorb, and explain complex information in a clear, concise and accessible manner.
  • Experience in consulting with stakeholders, to inform the design and production of printed and digital communications and training material.
  • Demonstrated experience in working across a range of stakeholders, developing and maintaining professional relationships, and networking across organisations and service systems.
  • Ability to be self-driven and prioritise own work to achieve strategic goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage contractors/suppliers, in order to meet deadlines.
