The Role
A System Integrations Engineer/Specialist is responsible for ensuring that various software applications, systems, and components within an organisation can work together seamlessly. This involves;
- Analysing requirements
- Designing integration solutions
- Configuring systems
- Conducting testing and troubleshooting issues to ensure smooth operations.
- Ability to work with different programming languages, API’s, middleware and databases to achieve integration.
Key duties for an ASD 4 Systems Integration Engineer:
- With supervision, perform assigned modular tasks and respond to inquiries from stakeholders
- Perform simple technical activities associated with improving system Integration
- Develop knowledge of System integration practices.
Key duties for an ASD 5 Senior Systems Integration Engineer:
- With limited supervision, deliver assigned broader tasks and provide guidance to stakeholders
- Actively engage with stakeholders to ensure system reliability, manage expectations and develop capability improvements
- Maintain a sound working knowledge of Integration Engineering practices.

About our Team
The Mission Data (MD) Division within the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) is responsible for providing the foundational data capabilities to support all of ASD’s functions. We do this via the provision of data platforms and services, management of ASD’s mission data, and providing complex analytic development and support, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) capabilities.
