About the Role
The village maintenance support officer provides residents with home maintenance and repairs within their apartments. This position also provides support to the village support team with general onsite maintenance, gardening and cleaning. Transportation of residents in the village bus as required and set up requirements for functions.
Key Role Accountabilities:
Reliable completion of home maintenance tasks to residents and other related duties in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Supervise trades for completion of larger maintenance repairs.
Assist the Building Supervisor with tasks and relieve in position during leave periods.
Maintain and facilitate waste management schedules for the site.
Drive the village vehicle in a responsible, lawful, safe and courteous manner, being responsible for the safe loading, securing and unloading of passengers and the safe storage of equipment whilst always maintaining a client-centred focus.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and use equipment and chemicals in a safe manner as directed and in accordance with relevant policy.
Maintain store areas in a clean and tidy state, with chemicals stored as per MSDS.
Report on all work, health and safety hazards and incidents as they emerge.
Set up activity rooms for functions and clean the rooms after functions as required.
About You
Demonstrated experience within a handyman/maintenance officer role, incorporating working in conjunction with other tradespersons and general home maintenance and repairs.
Willingness to co-operate with management initiatives & participate in Area programs.
Understanding and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision to meet customer service requirements.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge and ability to provide minor maintenance.
