The opportunity
As a Contact Centre Operator, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support and services to members of the public as the first point of contact for emergency assistance and support, collection of donations and distribution of welfare items.
A key requirement of this role is to liaise and engage with community members, support workers and other representatives to facilitate the timely and efficient delivery of services and support in accordance with the philosophy of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland.
We have several permanent, part-time roles available at Acacia Ridge. These positions require 15-20 hours of work per week, with shifts scheduled between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Various working day options are available and flexible work-from-home arrangements are available after a qualifying period.
To be successful in the role, you will meet the following selection criteria:
• Previous experience working within a contact centre environment, preferably in community services or similar sectors
• Receive, assess, direct and action requests for emergency assistance in a compassionate non-judgmental and compassionate manner
• Previous experience receiving high volumes of calls and ability to consistently maintain professional phone etiquette at all times
• Personal aptitude for ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
• Microsoft Office suite proficiency with intermediate aptitude in Word, Outlook and Excel
• Developed interpersonal, communication and organisation skills and an effective, positive and highly resilient team player.
• Ability to demonstrate genuine respect and empathy for all people, regardless of their situation and circumstances
• Commitment to promoting and creating a safe and positive work environment
• Understand of the commitment to the philosophy of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland and an ability to work in accordance with policies and procedures to promote the values and mission of the Society.
