About BRAMS

Founded in 1978, Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) was the first remote Aboriginal Medical Service established in Western Australia. As an Aboriginal community-controlled health service, BRAMS has proudly supported the Broome community for over 40 years through holistic, culturally responsive healthcare.

Delivering over 40,000 occasions of service annually, BRAMS provides a broad range of programs including primary health care, social and emotional wellbeing services, and NDIS support. Guided by the core principles of Aboriginal self-determination, access, and empowerment, BRAMS continues to lead the way in community-focused healthcare delivery across the Kimberley.

About the Opportunities

BRAMS is looking for full-time Case Workers based in Broome, WA.

This role at BRAMS reports to the Leaving Violence Program Manager and supports the delivery of 12-week trauma-informed case management to individuals impacted by intimate partner violence.

In addition, positions are also available with partner organisations.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Receiving and managing applications from consortium members or directly from individuals

Conducting risk assessments and safety planning under LVP and WA Family Violence frameworks

Delivering culturally safe, person-centred case management and goal-setting

Supporting and referring clients to services aligned with their needs and preferences

Ensuring data compliance under BRAMS and DEX guidelines

About You

You’re someone who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Whether you bring professional experience in case work or simply have strong life experience and empathy, what matters most to us is your commitment to supporting people impacted by intimate partner violence in a non-judgmental, culturally safe, and respectful way.

We’re looking for individuals who:

Genuinely care about helping others and are motivated by purpose rather than position.

Can bring strong interpersonal and communication skills, and are comfortable building rapport with a wide range of people.

Have case management experience or a willingness to learn, particularly in managing referrals, client documentation, and coordinating support services.

Are reliable, trustworthy, and ready to be part of a collaborative, community-minded team.

Understand the importance of cultural sensitivity, especially when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Are able to maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, and show resilience in challenging environments.

While formal qualifications aren't required, we welcome people with lived experience and those who reflect the diversity of the communities we serve.
