About the role
We are seeking a Deli Assistant to join our team at STIRLING IGA' in the Northern Suburbs & Joondalup Perth WA. This is a full-time position where you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the efficient operation of our deli department.
What you'll be doing
Preparing and serving a variety of fresh deli products, including slicing meats and cheeses, assembling sandwiches, and packaging items for sale
Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the deli area, including stocking shelves, rotating inventory, and keeping the display cases well-stocked and presentable
Providing friendly and knowledgeable assistance to customers, answering questions about products and making recommendations
Adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards
Assisting with other store operations as needed
What we're looking for
Previous experience working in a retail or customer service role, preferably in a deli or food service environment
Minimum of 6 months experience in retail or food service
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide excellent customer service
Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently and accurately
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays
A passion for fresh, quality food and a commitment to food safety
Current Food Safety Certificate or willingness to obtain before starting
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 15kg regularly
Must have permanent right to work in Australia
