About the Role:
An exciting opportunity is available for a passionate Italian LOTE teacher to join a dynamic and supportive secondary school in Melbourne's culturally rich inner west from Term 3. This junior secondary role (Years 7-9) is part of a well-established LOTE program and will run until the end of the year, with potential to extend into 2026.

Located within a contemporary, multi-campus setting, the school is part of a broader educational precinct committed to innovative, high-quality teaching and learning. Staff often work collaboratively across campuses-only a short walk or drive apart-creating a unified and connected teaching culture. Key duties:

• Develop engaging curriculum plans that align the Victorian Curriculum for Italian LOTE at a Secondary level.
• Deliver effective and interactive Italian LOTE language instruction, focusing on vocabulary, pronunciation, and language structures.
• Introduce aspects of Italian culture into lessons through age-appropriate activities, stories, and projects to foster cultural awareness.
• Design assessments to evaluate their language acquisition and provide constructive feedback to students
• Collaborate with other teachers and departments to integrate the Italian language and culture into broader educational themes and projects.
• Stay informed about developments in language education, attend workshops, and engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and methodologies.

Skills & Experience:

• Current VIT registration
• Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
• Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Italian LOTE at a Secondary level, however graduates are welcome to apply
• Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
