About the Role
We are excited to offer an outstanding opportunity to join our rapidly growing organisation as a Senior, Associate or Principal Structure Engineer on a full-time basis. Based in our Hornsby, NSW office, you’ll also have the chance to work on diverse and impactful projects across the Sydney region, ACT and regional NSW.
In this dynamic role, you will take the lead in a wide range of tasks spanning remedial engineering, structural design, and consulting services. Your responsibilities will include conducting site inspections and assessments, capturing measurements, analysing structural challenges, and preparing certified / declared structural design documentation for both remedial and new-build projects.
You will also:
Manage projects in compliance with the NSW DBP Act and applicable Australian Standards.
Prepare remedial designs for structural rectification, waterproofing systems, and façade repairs. And new-build structural design.
Oversee project management to ensure high-quality outcomes and on-time delivery.
Supervise or undertake testing of concrete and structural elements, ensuring precision and quality.
Provide tailored recommendations and innovative solutions.
Prepare comprehensive technical reports and offer expert advice on structures, facades, and waterproofing.
Develop and implement structural monitoring system plans, analysing and reporting on captured data.
Supervise and mentor junior staff.
Liaise with contractors, building owners, strata, insurers, and legal professionals.
This role offers the chance to collaborate closely with clients, team members, and industry professionals, making a tangible impact in every project you undertake.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or higher.
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or National Engineers Register (NER).
Registered Structural Design Practitioner (Class 2 DBP Compliant) — essential.
Minimum 7 years post-graduate structural design experience.
Minimum 3–5 years remedial, diagnostic or waterproofing experience (forensic preferred).
Ability to interface with clients, councils, and legal bodies.
Expertise in structural analysis, calculations, and design for both remedial and new-build projects.
Strong background in conducting structural assessments, identifying defects, and preparing detailed reports.
Hands-on experience with structural, facade, and waterproofing system assessments.
Comprehensive knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards.
Proficiency in developing structural monitoring system strategies and producing regular monitoring reports.
Exceptional technical report-writing skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Business development skills are a valued advantage.
