The Role
The People and Performance Business Partner (HRBP) partners with all staff across the organisation to provide informed, efficient HR services across the entire employee lifecycle, working in both a strategic and operational capacity. The HRBP will work alongside the Managers and Leadership Team to create and set goals for open and new positions, aligning the organizations objections with employees and management, develop strategic plans for recruitment and retention, identify coaching and training needs across the organization, partner with Managers and Senior Leadership to ensure diversity goals are met during the hiring process, manage training programs and evaluations, develop strategies for compliance and drive HR initiatives whilst working in line with Wathawurrung’s organizational business strategy and business plans.
About you
• Sound knowledge of HR, Payroll, and office systems (currently Employment Hero and MS Office).
• Ability to apply knowledge of employment legislation, awards and agreements, policies, and best practice to identify and resolve workforce issues.
• Demonstrated experience dealing with all facets of the employee lifecycle, and ability to demonstrate resilience and meet targets in a pressured environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to develop positive stakeholder relationships with diverse individuals at all levels, internally and externally.
• Highly developed emotional intelligence and ability to carry out all tasks in an empathetic and caring way to ensure dignity and respect is provided to all staff, during often challenging conversations.
• Ability to demonstrate resilience and meet targets and objectives within a pressured environment.
• Sound written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail, and high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively as part of a team, with a high level of organisational skills.
• Understanding of the purpose and expectations of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and demonstrated commitment to contributing to a child safe organisation in both practice and culture.
• Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
• Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Knowledge of safe and appropriate culturally centred practices for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander focused services, including employment of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
• Demonstrated understanding of social, physical, economical, and cultural strengths and challenges affecting Aboriginal communities and their ability to access adequate and quality services
• Understanding of the purpose and expectations of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and demonstrated commitment to contributing to a child safe organisation in both practice and culture
Desirable
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management, Employee Relations, Business, or related field, and/or professional experience in human resources management.
• Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
• Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations.
• Demonstrated understanding of social, physical, economical, and cultural strengths and challenges affecting Aboriginal communities and their ability to access adequate and quality services.
• Experience working in a service delivery setting with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, or culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
• Knowledge of safe and appropriate culturally centred practices for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander focused services, including employment of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
