About the Role

MSS Security are seeking casual Security Officers to join our team at the Federal Court in Cairns. This high-profile site plays a pivotal role in the justice system. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of court staff, visitors, and the public.

Your duties include, but are not limited to:

• Managing and signing in the arrival and departure of persons (official visitors and contractors) to the premises.
• Switchboard answering services - answer general enquiries, redirect calls and maintain confidentiality
• Assisting with staff escorts
• Screening of customers, parcels, using a wand, including screening couriers
• Onsite monitoring, including response to alarm systems
• Assist with the implementation of building emergency procedures
• Render First Aid including CPR and Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
• Follow all site-specific procedures and undertake other duties that reasonably fit within the realm of security guarding services

What we are looking for: We are looking for individuals who possess strong interpersonal skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a commitment to maintaining the safety and security of the court environment. You will also need -

• QLD Security licence including Monitoring, Crowd Control and Security Officer Unarmed
• Certificate II in Security Operations
• Valid First Aid certificate and CPR Certificate
• Current drivers licence
• Able to undergo a Police Check
• Ability to obtain an employee suitability clearance
