We're seeking an experienced blown film extrusion operator to expand our team. Hours are flexible so could be ideal for someone looking to supplement an existing role and move into a permanent position

You'll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining extrusion machinery to produce polyethylene film or tubing. This role involves ensuring the machine runs smoothly, quality products are produced, and safety protocols are followed.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Setup:

Installing dies, configuring machine controls, adjusting temperatures and pressures according to job specifications.

Operation Monitoring:

Continuously observing the extrusion process, monitoring material flow, temperature, pressure, and other parameters to ensure consistent output.

Quality Control:

Inspecting extruded products for defects, adjusting machine settings to maintain quality, and conducting in-process testing (e.g., measuring dimensions, checking for defects).

Troubleshooting:

Identifying and resolving issues that may arise during the extrusion process, such as equipment malfunctions or problems with the material.

Routine Maintenance:

Performing tasks like cleaning, lubricating, and minor repairs on the machinery to prevent breakdowns and ensure efficient operation.

Record Keeping:

Maintaining accurate records of production data, machine settings, and maintenance activities.

Material Handling:

Loading raw materials into the machine, removing finished products, and potentially operating equipment like forklifts to move materials.

Safety Compliance:

Following all safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

Teamwork:

Collaborating with other operators and team members to ensure efficient production and address any issues that arise.
