About the organisation:

The Dandenong & District Aborigines Co-operative Ltd (DDACL) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO) which is governed by a community elected Board of Directors. About the Role:

We are seeking a committed and culturally aware professional to support the Aboriginal Best Start, focused on achieving positive outcomes for Aboriginal children and families across City of Casey, City of Greater Dandenong, City of Cardinia. This position is a 12 month fixed term contract.

Key Responsibilities

Support and facilitate the Aboriginal Best Start (ABS) Partnership to achieve key outcomes.

Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with stakeholders, including the development of new partnerships.

Coordinate and facilitate regular partnership meetings and working groups.

Review and interpret data, local knowledge and evidence to inform strategic actions.

Implement a continuous improvement approach through Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles.

Monitor, report and track outcomes at a local level.

Ensure timely completion and submission of all required reports.

Key Selection Criteria:

· Demonstrated experience in working in cross-cultural settings, in particular in working effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, families and communities.

· Demonstrated understanding of early childhood education and care, parenting approaches and early childhood development.

· Demonstrated ability to deal with concepts and complex problems, in particular in gaining support and agreement for ideas and/or projects.

· Demonstrated experience in facilitation and network co-ordination (preferably across different sectors).

· Previous experience in research, analysis and interpretation of data highly desirable.

· Experience in working in cross-cultural settings, in particular in working effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, families and communities

· Experience in presenting and facilitating meetings/forums

· Empowerment and self-determination skills

· High level of written, interpersonal and communication skills

· Strong sense of professional ethics and respect for others, and models this in personal behaviour

OTHER DESIRABLE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

· Knowledge of early childhood development, education, community services or related field

· Experience in program evaluation and/or implementation of continuous improvement framework within a program setting

Essential Screening Requirements:

· A current unrestricted Victorian Driver’s Licence.

· Australian Work Rights.

· A current Working with Children Check.

· A current Police Check.

· Fully vaccinated.
