Join the Frontline of Change, Become an Authorised Officer for Buses
In proud partnership with Transport for NSW and CDC NSW.
Are you someone who cares about your community and wants to make public transport safer, friendlier, and easier for everyone? The Corroboree Group is looking for 75 Authorised Officers to help improve the passenger experience on buses across NSW. This will be a mix of full time, part time and casual opportunities to cover a 7 day a week schedule!
This isn’t just a compliance role, it’s a chance to be a helpful and reassuring presence for passengers in the Hills District, Newcastle, and the Hunter Valley. Whether you're guiding someone to their destination, assisting during service delays, or helping people understand how to pay the correct fare, you'll be making everyday travel smoother and more positive.
What the Role Involves
As an Authorised Officer, you’ll be out on the network, supporting passengers and promoting a safe, respectful travel environment. You’ll help ensure everyone gets the most out of their journey by:
Creating a safe and welcoming environment on board and at stops
Promoting fare compliance and deterring fare evasion in line with Transport for NSW policy (including the issuing of cautions and fines).
Providing clear directions and support to those unfamiliar with the network
Assisting during periods of disruption across the network
Managing minor behavioural offences with calm professionalism
Preparing statements and contributing to the provision of accurate information for court proceedings where needed
You’ll be part of a dedicated team that puts people first, working together to ensure a reliable, safe, and supportive experience for all.
Who You’ll Be Working With
CDC NSW operate essential bus services across the state. They’re committed to delivering clean, safe, and reliable public transport that keeps communities connected with the passenger at the heart of everything they do.
What You Bring to the Role
A genuine passion for helping others and making a difference
Strong communication skills and empathy for people from all walks of life
Confidence in handling issues fairly and respectfully
A calm, professional attitude under pressure
A proactive approach to problem-solving.
Essential Requirements
You must be able to obtain the following. Already holding them will be a competitive advantage:
A current Senior First Aid Certificate (valid for at least 12 months)
Unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence
Working With Children Check
National Police Check.
Be the Friendly Face That Makes a Difference
If you believe in creating a better, safer experience for everyone on public transport, this is your chance to be part of something meaningful.
Apply now and join a team that’s helping passengers feel supported, connected, and confident in their journey every day.
