Role Purpose
The Motor Mechanic is responsible for the testing, installation and repair of light vehicles.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Test, install and repair of service light vehicles.
- Identifying and diagnosing issues in engines and components.
- Disassembling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, and other components, while inspecting the parts.
- Carrying out routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups, to ensure smoother vehicle performance and compliance with emissions regulations.
- Testing and fine-tuning repaired mechanical parts for proper functionality, while using computer-based diagnostics to identify issues.
- Fixing or replacing damaged and worn parts, reassembling mechanical components, and consulting service manuals when necessary.
- Build rapport with customers through friendly and engaging communication.
- Understand customer needs and requirements.
- Operate hand equipment and power tools.
- Work towards achieving KPI’s and targets.
- Maintaining WHS standards within the company including when working at external sites.
- Report any hazards, misconduct, impropriety or unsafe work practices to management.
- Use technical and research resources to ensure your technical knowledge is current and up to date.
- Adhere to United Safety & Survivability’s Code of Conduct.
