Role Purpose

The Motor Mechanic is responsible for the testing, installation and repair of light vehicles.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Test, install and repair of service light vehicles.
• Identifying and diagnosing issues in engines and components.
• Disassembling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, and other components, while inspecting the parts.
• Carrying out routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups, to ensure smoother vehicle performance and compliance with emissions regulations.
• Testing and fine-tuning repaired mechanical parts for proper functionality, while using computer-based diagnostics to identify issues.
• Fixing or replacing damaged and worn parts, reassembling mechanical components, and consulting service manuals when necessary.
• Build rapport with customers through friendly and engaging communication.
• Understand customer needs and requirements.
• Operate hand equipment and power tools.
• Work towards achieving KPI’s and targets.
• Maintaining WHS standards within the company including when working at external sites.
• Report any hazards, misconduct, impropriety or unsafe work practices to management.
• Use technical and research resources to ensure your technical knowledge is current and up to date.
