About the role

Nexus O&M is seeking a Casual Traffic Control Centre Operator to join our team in Toowoomba, QLD. This is a casual position, and you will be responsible for managing and monitoring traffic flow and safety along the Toowoomba Second Range Bypass. The role involves working in our state-of-the-art traffic control centre, ensuring efficient and safe movement of vehicles, pedestrians and heavy machinery.

What you'll be doing:

Monitor and manage traffic flow at construction sites using advanced traffic control systems

Communicate with on-site incident response officers and site managers to coordinate traffic movements and emergencies

Identify and respond to potential traffic issues or safety concerns in a timely manner

Maintain detailed records of traffic movements and incidents

Provide regular reports on traffic flow and safety to project managers

Assist with the implementation of traffic management plans as required

What we're looking for:

Previous experience in a traffic control or traffic management role, preferably in the construction industry

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a variety of stakeholders

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail

Proficient in the use of traffic control systems and technology

Familiarity with relevant traffic management regulations and safety standards

A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
