About the role:
Due to unprecedented growth we are currently seeking a Home and Garden Maintenance Worker (HGM Worker) to join our team. This is a full-time position, with part-time options (minimum of 3 days per week) also considered. The role is based in Melville and surrounding suburbs, with working hours between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
Working independently, you will provide home and garden maintenance services to our clients, so to minimise environmental health and safety hazards in their home and garden.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow the support plan at all times, providing home and garden maintenance as described in the plan, including but not limited to minor home maintenance and gardening including lawnmowing and pruning;
Advise the Coordinator if support other than that described in the support plan appears necessary or is requested by the client;
Report to the Coordinator any changes observed in the client, the home’s safety or other relevant aspects of the home environment;
Work in a cohesive manner with team member;
Promote safety by following organisational WHS requirements and guidelines;
Communicate respectfully with all individuals including clients, representatives, staff and the community.
Contribute to continuous improvement by involvement in staff meetings, planning days, and feedback mechanisms;
Actively participate in education and training requirements;
Other duties as requested by the Coordinator.
Essential Criteria:
Experience in providing home and garden maintenance or experience in a trade with transferable skills;
Ownership of and ability to operate personal smartphone to an efficient standard;
A strong commitment to working with senior people;
Ability to work both in a team and independently;
Accurate observation and reporting skills (verbal and written);
Ability to work within the Aged Care standards;
C class Western Australia driver’s license;
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical;
National Police Clearance (less than 3 months old);
Willingness to undertake required training.
Desirable Criteria:
Previous relevant experience in the health/aged/disability sector is highly desirable; and
