Based in Cairns, Pacifica is a leading provider of Accounting, Business Advisory, and Audit & Assurance services for Small to Medium Businesses and council/government clients. We are now seeking an experienced SMSF Accountant to join our team and manage a growing portfolio of self-managed superannuation fund clients.

About the Role

In this specialised role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing and administration of SMSFs, including compliance, client liaison, and reporting. Working alongside our broader accounting and advisory teams, you will ensure accurate, timely, and compliant service for our valued SMSF clients.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review financial statements, annual returns, and documentation for SMSFs

Manage day-to-day administration and compliance obligations under SIS Act and ATO regulations

Liaise directly with clients regarding contributions, pensions, and fund queries

Process investment transactions and reconcile fund data using SMSF administration software

Work closely with external auditors, trustees, and financial planners

Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and communications

What We’re Looking For

Minimum 2–3 years’ experience working with SMSFs in a public practice setting

Strong knowledge of SMSF compliance, legislation, and ATO requirements

Proficiency with SMSF administration software

Excellent client communication and relationship management skills

High attention to detail and ability to work independently within deadlines

Accounting qualification; CA/CPA desirable but not essential
