About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Rooming House Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our rooming houses in Victoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all residents, while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Tenancy Management: Negotiate and enter into residency agreements, manage tenant applications, and screen prospective residents.
Rent Collection: Receive and record rent payments, manage arrears, and maintain accurate financial records.
Property Maintenance: Coordinate regular maintenance and repairs, ensure cleanliness and hygiene of common areas, and promptly address tenant requests.
Compliance: Ensure the property meets all safety, security, and amenity standards, including fire safety, adequate lighting, and secure locks.
Tenant Support: Foster a respectful community, enforce house rules, and address any issues or disputes in a timely and professional manner.
Administration: Maintain accurate records, manage vacancies, and liaise with local councils and regulatory bodies as required.
Emergency Response: Be available to respond to urgent matters and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all residents.
Requirements
Experience: Previous experience in property management, rooming house management, or a related field is highly desirable.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of people.
Organisation: Strong organisational and administrative skills, with attention to detail.
Compliance: Knowledge of relevant legislation and a commitment to upholding safety and privacy standards.
Availability: Ability to be available for urgent matters and manage the property during regular hours.
Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
