About the Occupational Therapy Department

The Gold Coast University Hospital Occupational Therapy department is a dynamic and rapidly growing service. The primary goal is to enable people to participate in the activities of their everyday life. This is achieved by using specific activities to enhance their ability to participate or by modifying the physical environment to better support participation.

About your new role

As a valued member of the Occupational Therapy team, you will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to provide a flexible and responsive service that meets client identified therapeutic and recreation goals under the delegation of Occupational Therapists. This includes:

• Utilising advanced level clinical and recreational skills and knowledge to perform a wide range of individual and group intervention and clinical support activities
• Identifying and implementing changes to the intervention and treatment programs
• Ensuring patients participate in purposeful occupations including self-care and social/recreational activities of daily living
• Working collaboratively and effectively through active participation in the multidisciplinary team and with consumers/families and other relevant stakeholders

Qualifications

• Certificate IV Allied Health Assistant or Advanced certificate in Disability Studies or Certificate IV in Health and Community Services (Diversional Therapy) or equivalent
• Driver Licence
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Permanent full time and Permanent part time (multiple positions, hours negotiable)
• Base salary ranging from $76 076 - $81 346 per annum or $38.36 - $41.02 per hour
