An exciting opportunity awaits a passionate and experienced Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner to join our dynamic team of highly skilled professionals.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
In this vital role, you will deliver a range of high-quality, child-focused interventions to support families navigating the challenges of post-separation conflict. Working within the framework of the Family Law Act, you will guide families through complex issues-helping them reach agreements regarding parenting arrangements and property division. Your responsibilities will include intake, risk assessment, case management, and the delivery of tailored interventions such as mediation and child-inclusive practices.
Beyond family law matters, you will also provide general mediation services if you are AMDRAS qualified to Interrelate clients across a variety of contexts. These may include workplace disputes, elder mediation, school-based conflicts, and parent-child relationship challenges. Your role will be to facilitate constructive dialogue, support clients in identifying key issues, explore options, and empower them to make informed, mutually beneficial decisions.
Your role will be to deliver relationships and parenting courses as well.
This is a unique opportunity to use your skills to foster understanding, reduce conflict, and create positive outcomes for individuals and families across diverse situations.

Key Duties will include:
- Provide family dispute resolution and general mediation services if AMDRAS qualified
- Facilitate groups, seminars and workshops
- Conduct intake assessments, develop case plans and parenting agreements
- Facilitate effective referral and promotion of services
- Participate in program and service evaluations
The successful applicant must hold a Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution, and current accreditation with the Attorney General's Department as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.

In addition to the required qualifications and FDR accreditation, the successful candidate will require strong people skills and the ability to work with clients on resolving issues by generating flexible and practical options.
The position will be based at the Caringbah office with a requirement for evening work until 8pm on Tuesdays.
The position is a Fixed term contract until 30 June 2026, working 30 hours per week.
Hourly rate is in line with a SCHADS Award level 5, $53.24 per hour, plus 11.5% superannuation.

KEY ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution, and current accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with the Attorney General's Department.
Bachelor's degree in any discipline in addition to the Graduate Diploma Family Dispute Resolution is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in:
- delivering dispute resolution, family law, and/or mediation services with families and children
- casework with clients; implementing and supporting case plans
- facilitating groups, seminars, and workshops
- working within a Family Law context
- solutions-focused and interpersonal communication skills
- report writing, case notes, data collection, and data entry
- working with online systems and technology, such as a CRM (Client Relationship Management) System, Microsoft Teams and Zoom
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of:
- the process and purpose of child inclusive mediation practice
- the issues facing diverse communities, including ATSI, CALD, and remote communities
- the impact of family separation and breakdown on children, and having skills in managing high parental conflict whilst upholding the best interests of children
- child development, child protection, mandatory reporting, suicide prevention/intervention, and family violence issues
- community services, especially those relating to families experiencing relationship difficulties
- the Family Law Act and other relevant legislation, such as the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act and domestic violence legislation
