About the Role
You will join our Modelling and Data Science team within the Economics and Analysis Branch in the Investment NSW group.
The Senior Data Engineer will play a pivotal part in shaping data-driven strategies by leading the design and implementation of sophisticated data engineering solutions. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end data workflows-from ingesting and transforming complex datasets to enabling actionable insights through cloud-based platforms and visualisation tools.

We're Looking For
Your experience working in collaborative environments within cross-functional teams will ensure your success in this role. You are confident operating in dynamic, fast-paced environments where your experience with data engineering tools were a key factor in your success. You will also have:
- Project Management: Ability to lead complex data engineering projects, designing and scaling efficient data pipelines
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in advanced programming languages and tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Azure, AWS, Databricks, Snowflake) to develop scalable data pipelines, data warehouses, and support machine learning processes
- Stakeholder Management: Experience in development and delivery of data engineering solutions through intensive collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Continuous Improvement: Experience in testing new data engineering technologies, continuously learning and experimenting to ensure that successful innovations can be smoothly integrated and scaled for practical use
