If you're a seasoned SQL Database Administrator looking to break out of legacy environments and into the cloud, this role gives you the runway and support to do it.

You’ll join a growing financial services and advisory business that’s been around for 50+ years, with 700 employees across the globe and a strong balance sheet. Technology is seen as a strategic enabler and competitive differentiator, and the CTO sits on the executive team reporting directly to the CEO.

You’ll be part of a hands-on engineering team that’s modernising platforms, moving into AWS and embedding automation and data into everything they do. You'll work closely with senior data engineers and be mentored by a high-calibre Head of Engineering who’ll help fast-track your cloud and Python capabilities. Over time, your role will evolve from DBA to more Data Engineering/DevOps.

What you’ll do

• Be hands on in the move from on-prem SQL databases to AWS cloud environments.
• Build modern ETL pipelines for structure/unstructured data and cloud data workflows.
• Automate infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation or AWS CDK.
• Tune and manage on-premise SQL Server environments while migration is happening and support DR strategies; and
• Implement monitoring across hybrid infrastructure and contribute to incident response.

You’ll thrive here if you:

• Are confident with SQL Server database administration (tuning, upgrades, DR)
• Have experience with or a strong interest in AWS and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). You will have done self-learning at the least if you haven’t got hands on experience with AWS.
• Know your way around ETL tools (SSIS, Glue, Step Functions) and SSRS; and
• Want to help shape cloud and data best practices from the ground up.
