GenV is one of the world's largest and most ambitious birth and parent cohort studies, designed to transform the future of health and wellbeing across generations. We're on the lookout for a Cloud Engineer with expertise in AWS to help us deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud solutions that support cutting-edge research and innovation.

In this pivotal role, you'll ensure the smooth operation, optimisation, and automation of our cloud infrastructure—enabling researchers to focus on what they do best: driving breakthroughs in science and health.

Your Impact

• Operate and enhance GenV's AWS-based cloud services, powering advanced research and data analytics.
• Design and implement infrastructure and data pipelines using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD best practices.
• Build robust, scalable environments that enable rapid experimentation for data scientists and research teams.
• Drive automation, monitoring, and performance optimisation across our cloud stack.
• Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards such as HIPAA and GDPR.
• Collaborate with teams across MCRI to influence cloud strategy, promote DevOps culture, and shape the future of enterprise cloud services.

What we need from you:

• 3-5+ years' experience managing AWS infrastructure (EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, Glue, etc.).
• Strong skills in Python, data engineering, and API management.
• Experience with DevOps and automation tools (GitLab, Docker, Terraform).
• Proven ability to manage scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud environments.
• A proactive mindset, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a collaborative spirit.
