We are currently seeking a motivated, confident, and experienced Dental Diagnostic and Operation Officer to join our dedicated team in Revesby, New South Wales. About the Role
This position requires a high level of clinical competence, excellent communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Management
Manage day-to-day operations of dental facilities including scheduling, workforce, and patient flow.
Ensure optimal use of clinical resources (staff, equipment, and materials).
Ensure compliance with health regulations, infection control, and safety standards.
Monitor performance metrics and produce operational and diagnostic reports for management.
2. Diagnostic Oversight
Oversee diagnostic procedures including dental X-rays, oral health assessments, and diagnostic imaging.
Ensure accuracy and consistency in diagnostic practices across the dental team.
Develop and maintain clinical protocols and guidelines for diagnosis and treatment planning.
Evaluate and implement diagnostic tools and software (e.g., digital radiography, intraoral scanners).
3. Team Coordination and Leadership
Supervise and coordinate with dental assistants, hygienists, and administrative staff.
Conduct or coordinate training for diagnostic procedures, new technologies, and operational protocols.
Act as a bridge between clinical and administrative teams.
4. Patient Interaction & Support
Support dentists in explaining diagnostic results and treatment options to patients.
Oversee patient service delivery to ensure a high standard of care and satisfaction.
Collect and act on patient feedback to improve clinical and operational practices.
5. Strategic Planning
Identify and implement improvements in diagnostic efficiency and clinic operations.
Contribute to budgeting, and procurement of diagnostic tools and operational supplies.
Stay updated with emerging dental technologies and recommend innovations.
Essential Criteria
A minimum of two (2) years of professional clinical experience in an oral health-related setting.
A relevant tertiary qualification in health diagnostics, public health, health science, health promotion, nursing, or a related field.
A demonstrated commitment to delivering a high standard of patient care, with a focus on dignity, compassion, and cultural sensitivity.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to effectively engage with individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Proven ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team in a clinical or community-based environment.
High standards of professional integrity, ethical conduct, and confidentiality.
Desirable Criteria
Previous experience working in a community-based, outreach, or mobile health program.
Experience in oral health education or a strong understanding of oral health issues in public health.
Familiarity with clinical software (Dentally) and digital health records systems.
