Workfast is currently seeking Slurry Treatment Operators to support trenchless tunnelling works on the Sydney Water infrastructure project in Thornleigh, NSW. These works involve running slurry separation systems used in tunnel boring operations.

Start Date: Mid-July 2025
Location: Thornleigh, NSW
Shifts: 10–12 hours, rotating day/night
Pay Rate: $41.00 per hour + OT + Super
Job Type: Ongoing project work

You’ll receive full training on the centrifuge and desander units, making this an excellent opportunity to build skills while contributing to a major infrastructure upgrade.

What You Will Be Doing

• Operate and monitor slurry treatment and separation equipment
• Receive hands-on training with centrifuge and desander systems
• Control slurry flow, disposal, and recycling operations
• Perform equipment inspections and routine maintenance
• Record plant data and report issues
• Assist with general tunnelling duties when needed
• Follow strict safety, environmental, and operational procedures

What You Need

• White Card – essential
• Experience with plant, slurry, or tunnelling operations – highly regarded
• Working at Heights - Essential
• Must pass a Respirator Fit Test (mandatory)
• Physically fit for long shifts
• Willing to learn and work across tunnelling tasks
• Flexible for rotating shifts
