About Me

Hi there! I’m a 62-year-old man living with a psychosocial disability and acquired brain injury. I’m passionate about chess, Jimi Hendrix, sports, cooking, and having deep, meaningful conversations.

The Role

I’m seeking a self-reliant, compassionate, and emotionally intelligent Support Worker to join my team. You’ll be working within a 2:1 support model, helping me navigate daily life, build skills, and achieve my NDIS goals.

I value empathy, patience, and a calm presence. When I feel overwhelmed, I need someone who can hold space, respond with kindness, and support me through it.

What You’ll Be Doing

Supporting me with daily living activities

Helping me access the community

Engaging in home-based activities

Encouraging my independence and personal growth

Implementing support plans and positive behaviour strategies

Keeping accurate records and working collaboratively with my team

About You

You’re someone who:

Brings a calm, confident, and respectful approach

Has a great sense of humour and a team spirit

Understands complex behaviours and responds with compassion

Is flexible, adaptable, and committed to person-centred support

Wants to make a real difference in someone’s life

Requirements

NDIS Worker Screening or DHS Disability Check

Current Driver’s Licence

First Aid & CPR

Safety Intervention Training

Cert III in Individual Support (or similar)

Experience with positive behaviour support and complex needs
