The role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Air Control Australia as a full-time Credit Controller based in Bayswater, Victoria. As Credit Controller, you will play a vital role in the Accounts Receivable/Credit Control function, ensuring the timely collection of customer payments and maintaining positive relationships with clients.

Key responsibilities

Manage and monitor the credit control process, following up on overdue payments, and resolving any disputes or queries for multiple ledgers

Daily bank reconciliations, receipting and allocation of debtor payments

Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account records

Review new accounts, assess credit worthiness and set credit limits

Liaise with customers to understand their payment processes and negotiate payment terms as needed,

Identify and escalate issues with late payments or non-payment, and work with the broader finance team to develop strategies for improving cash flow

Provide regular reports and updates on the credit control function to management

Run meetings with internal stakeholders to address issues

Work closely with the sales team to ensure a smooth customer experience

Assist with the development and implementation of credit control policies and procedures

Issue demand notices, legal proceedings and liaise with our in-house legal counsel where required

What we're looking for

Significant experience in a credit control or accounts receivable role

Construction industry knowledge in terms of the Security of Payments Act (Australia wide), progress claims, cash retentions & bank guarantees

Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with customers

Excellent attention to detail and numerical skills, with the ability to accurately maintain financial records

Excellent planning, organisational & time management skills

Ability to work in a demanding, high volume environment and meet company deadlines

A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving

Ideas and innovation for better processes, curiosity, question the status quo

Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications

Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance would be highly regarded
