We are currently seeking applications for a Lead, Security Engineering role to join the Office of the Chief Information Officer at the Department of Treasury and Finance for an ongoing period.

Remuneration: ASO7 - Salary Range $98,478 p.a. - $104,165 p.a.

About the opportunity:
Reporting to the Deputy Director, Service Design & Integration, the Lead, Security Engineering role will support the secure implementation of systems from concept through to operations. The incumbent will apply their professional expertise to inform secure practices and ensure that the appropriate security controls are incorporated into products and service designs for the across government security and performance logging solution. The role will also mentor and support junior team members and evangelise security and privacy as core tenets of our culture.

About you:
To be successful you will:

Provide expert advice to OCIO and government agencies on security engineering practices, technical security controls and other related topics.

Lead the creation and implementation of security designs, and solutions.

Assist management in enforcing approved security architecture, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.

Contribute expert knowledge to governance in the security domain.

Ensure that security services are implemented as protection services, such as authentication and authorisation, detection services, such as monitoring and auditing, and response services, such as incident response and forensics.

Develop, or inform the development of, security mechanisms and ensure the integrity of the architectures regarding security.

Lead a team to support the building, running, and maintenance of the across government security and performance logging solution.

Contribute to OCIO's annual cyber security program including reporting requirements as part of the SACSF attestation process.
