Your Assignment |

To manage end-to-end payroll processing while supporting accounts payable functions to ensure accurate and timely financial operations. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, maintaining employee confidentiality, and fostering strong relationships across departments and with external stakeholders

Key Responsibilities |

Payroll Management (70%)

• Process and oversee end-to-end payroll for all employees, including salaried, hourly, and casual staff.
• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, allowances, deductions, and entitlements in line with Awards and contracts.
• Prepare and reconcile payroll journals and general ledger entries.
• Oversee superannuation, payroll tax, WorkCover, and other statutory payments.
• Manage Single Touch Payroll (STP) and EOFY processing and reporting.
• Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with Fair Work and ATO requirements.
• Respond to payroll queries from employees and managers promptly and professionally.
• Stay up to date with relevant legislation, awards, and taxation updates.

Accounts Payable (30%)

• Support the accounts payable function, including invoice processing, supplier payments, and reconciliation.
• Review and verify purchase orders, receipts, and supporting documentation for accuracy.
• Process weekly and ad hoc supplier payments and maintain supplier records.
• Prepare AP aging reports and assist with cash flow planning.
• Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on discrepancies.
• Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to resolve payment or invoice issues

Your Attributes & Abilities |

• Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing (3+ years preferred).
• Solid understanding of Australian payroll legislation, Awards/EBAs, and taxation requirements.
• Experience with accounts payable and general finance functions.
• High proficiency with payroll and accounting systems (e.g., Xero, MYOB, KeyPay, Micropay, SAP).
• Strong Excel and data reconciliation skills.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and discretion with confidential information.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Desirable Qualifications |

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Payroll certification or membership with the Australian Payroll Association (APA) is advantageous.
• Experience in [industry-specific software or awards if applicable].
