We have a great opportunity for a Diesel Generator Mechanic to join our dedicated team based onsite at the Nauru Regional Processing Centre.

As the Diesel Generator Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing regular inspections, emergency repairs, and maintenance of generators, heavy vehicles, and cranes, ensuring optimal performance and quick responses to faults at the Nauru Regional Processing Centre. This is a FIFO position flying from Brisbane to Nauru, working a 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off roster.

In your new role, you will:

• Diagnose issues with generators, heavy vehicles, and cranes, and devise effective solutions
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to ensure the optimal performance of generators, heavy vehicles, and cranes
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure all equipment operates efficiently and effectively
• Perform additional operational duties as required to support management and stakeholders, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all personnel on site

To be successful, you will:

• Have a Certificate III in Automotive Diesel Engine Technology or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working with diesel powered generators, preferably in a remote environment
• Hold or willing to obtain and working with children certification
• Ability to undertake and pass pre-employment checks such at Australian Federal Police Check, full physical and health assessment
• Provide evidence that you are vaccinated against COVID-19 (double vaccinated)
