Your Opportunity
As the Administration Officer for Water and Wastewater Services, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our Water Department while reporting to the Water Operations Support Officer. This position is ideal for someone with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality administrative support.
Term: Full-time
Hours of Work: 72.5 hours per fortnight
Pay Level: $2575.55 to $2996.06 per fortnight (Level 2-3), plus 12% superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading
In accordance with Council's Enterprise Agreement and the relevant Award. Pay rate dependant on relevant skills and experience.
Employment Base: Warwick, Queensland

About the Department
The Water and Wastewater Department works within the Infrastructure, Assets and Projects Directorate and reports directly to the Director Infrastructure, Assets and Projects with the directive to deliver on the water and wastewater obligations of Council, whilst providing a high level of customer service to the community. Council’s Water Team delivers the essential services of water and wastewater (sewerage) to the Southern Downs community. Water services starts at the source including the treatment and pumping of water, maintaining the network and providing water metering services. Wastewater services start with the property connection and includes maintaining the sewer network, managing pump stations and delivering wastewater treatment services at facilities across the region

- Provide a wide range of administration support within the Water Department and assist with general enquiries related to water and wastewater service functions.
- Provide high-quality customer service to both internal and external customers, in person and over the phone.
- Manage purchase orders and reconcile invoices for the Water Department, ensuring compliance with relevant policies.
- Assist with monitoring and allocation of team tasks, such as Merit and ECM task lists, to ensure timely completion.
What You Will Need
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- The legal right to live and work in Australia
- A Class C (car) licence or greater is required in this role
- Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to build effective working relationships and provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients.
- Extensive office administration experience including strong written communication skills.
- The ability to develop a working knowledge of a diverse range of functions and tasks.
- High level keyboard skills and experience in current office computer programs.
- To be able to demonstrate your competence in relation to all of the Selection Criteria as detailed in the Position Description
