About the work unit
The Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit (AAMHIU) is a 38-bed acute inpatient service located at Townsville University Hospital. The AAMHIU delivers specialised care to consumers experiencing acute episodes of mental illness. The AAMHIU is a recovery focused service, providing safe and contemporary care in a least restrictive setting.

  • Salary range: $107,960 to $115,604 p.a. (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

About your opportunity
The Clinical Nurse will work collaboratively with consumers and multi-disciplinary professionals to provide clinical care and a therapeutic environment conducive to the dignity and well-being of consumers and carers within the Mental Health Service.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Ongoing professional development relevant to the delivery of specialist Mental Health Services to maintain appropriate registration and/or association requirements is a requirement of all staff within the MHSG.
  • Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
