Build the Future – CNC Machinist & 3D Designer (Marine & Defence)
Location: Gold Coast City Marina | Industry: Marine & Defence | Full-Time

We’re looking for a CNC Machinist & 3D Designer who loves turning ideas into reality.

At Hybrid Composites, we build high-performance parts and prototypes for the marine and defence industries. You’ll operate our 4-axis CNC machine to create everything from precision plugs and moulds to complex one-off components. This is hands-on, creative work — not repetitive production.

What you’ll be doing:

Operate and maintain a 4-axis CNC machine

Interpret 2D/3D drawings and assist with CAD/CAM

Support prototype development, tooling, and low-volume production

Collaborate with our design and composites teams

Think critically and solve production challenges on the fly

The right person might have:

Whether you’re a seasoned pro or an emerging maker, we care more about attitude and curiosity than a perfect resume.

You might bring:

CNC operation experience (3-axis or 4-axis ideal)

Familiarity with CAM software (Fusion 360, RhinoCAM, Mastercam etc.)

Some 3D modelling/drafting skills (Rhino, Fusion 360, SolidWorks)

Basic G-code understanding and toolpath knowledge

Exposure to composite tooling or marine prototyping (bonus)

But more importantly, you:

Love making, tinkering, and building cool stuff

Have strong spatial awareness and mechanical intuition

Are self-motivated and open to learning new systems and tools

Take pride in doing things right, not just fast

Have permanent Australian work rights or citizenship
