CNC Machinist

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our production facility located in Narangba QLD.

Our company has over 35 Years of industry experience in Australia and are experiencing sustained growth in the market of Material handling. We are part of an international group with our head office located in Germany with employees exceeding 1100 worldwide.

• Full time employment.

• CNC Lathe (Preferred)
• CNC Milling (Desirable)

Qualification and Skills

• Trade qualified as a Fitter/Machinist preferred but we are willing to consider an unqualified person who offers a proven track record.
• Experience in CNC machining and operating.
• Programming Competency or Demonstrated ability in program alteration would be very desirable.
• Good understanding of the structure and flow of CNC programs.
• Have the ability to step through unproven programs.
• Strong technical aptitude, be able to read and interpret drawings.
• Good communicating skills.
• Experienced in using micrometers, bore gauges, thread micrometers and Vernier’s.
• Autonomous work ethic required with the mindset of Managing your own cell
• An understanding of machining fabricated parts would be advantageous.

The Role

• The successful applicant must be able to work closely with production coordinators and peers while being able to liaise with management and staff.
• Setup of machines with jobs and tooling.
• Experience with Lathes and live tooling very desirable.
• Look after tooling and material stock level and up-keep of maintenance schedules.
• Have good time management skills and understanding of Lean Manufacturing processes.
• Look after quality control in your Cell.
• A willingness to be cross trained between running Lathes and Mills.
