About the role

Join our small, dedicated team in the key role of Machine Operator, operating a high-speed 5-Axis CNC router which trim parts in 3 dimensions. Whilst the machines do their work, you will be responsible for a range of tasks including loading and unloading the machines, setting tooling on the machines, handling and sub-assembling parts, and segregating, labelling and moving recycled materials. The machinery is semi-automated, advanced, and well-maintained. We will train you in all aspects necessary to operate the machinery and fulfill all duties.

Your duties will include;

Repetition trimming parts on production CNC machines

Setting-up holding fixtures on the CNC machines

Inspecting manufactured parts against quality criteria

Handling and packing parts

Band-saw cutting plastic off-cuts for recycling machinery

Basic assembly tasks (eg installing rivets) during machine cycles

Handling, labelling, packing finished products

Handling, labelling, packing finished granulated plastics for the purpose of warehousing and recycling

Moving materials and tooling using a forklift and pallet-jack

Basic inventory counts and recording

Maintaining clean work areas

Machine programming skills are not required for this role. However if you are technically minded, and seek a pathway to learn or master complex 5-axis programming for future career advancement, experience in this role may assist you to take the next step within our organisation.

You must be available to work day shifts 6:00am to 2:30pm Monday to Thursday, and 6:00am to 12:00pm on Fridays. Flexibility to accommodate afternoon shifts and/or overtime on demand will be valuable to us.

Although prior experience operating similar machinery will be highly regarded, we also seek trainees with a willing attitude and ability to learn and master the skills our training will provide.

You must;

Be reliable, positive, and demonstrate a strong work ethic

Have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced production environment

Be physically fit and healthy, and able to work on foot for the duration of shift

Have your own reliable transport and current Qld driver's license

Have a current Qld forklift license

Demonstrate attention to detail and accountability

Be willing and able to take a medical exam and disclose the results
