The Opportunity

Clear Hayes Consulting is seeking an experienced, proactive and dedicated Senior Account Manager to join our growing PR team. In this key role, you will manage strategic accounts, develop influential relationships with senior executives and leading journalists, and deliver outstanding PR outcomes for our clients. We’re looking for a positive, hands-on professional eager to make an immediate impact and drive meaningful results.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary contact for key accounts, managing day-to-day interactions, providing strategic counsel, proactively pitching fresh ideas and identifying new opportunities.

Strategic PR Execution and Content Creation: Develop and actively execute comprehensive PR strategies, including hands-on creation of press releases, opinion editorials and thought leadership pieces, awards submissions and social content. This also includes proactive pitching of content and interview opportunities to media.

Media Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with journalists and industry influencers across Australia, New Zealand and the broader APAC region.

Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise confidently and professionally with clients (including senior executives), industry leaders and internal teams to ensure aligned and impactful communications.

Crisis Communications: Provide expert advice and support in crisis management scenarios, demonstrating resilience, clarity and strategic insight.

Project Management: Efficiently coordinate multiple projects and initiatives, ensuring high-quality delivery on time and within budget.

Content Oversight: Oversee the production and distribution of high-calibre PR content, ensuring consistency and effectiveness in messaging.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum 5 years’ experience in PR account management, preferably within a fast-paced agency environment.

Proven capability in managing complex stakeholder relationships, providing strategic counsel and executing PR campaigns effectively.

Outstanding writing skills and the ability to craft diverse PR content tailored to different audiences.

Existing relationships with key journalists and media outlets in relevant sectors preferred.

Strategic thinker with creative problem-solving skills, adaptable and capable of delivering under pressure.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism or a related field preferred.

Experience in B2B communications, ideally in the marketing, media and technology sectors, preferred.
