The Water Group is seeking a highly motivated Assessment Support Officer to deliver exceptional customer service and administrative support in the assessment of alleged breaches and offences under natural resources management legislation, including the Water Management Act 2000. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely collection, entry, and management of data within relevant business systems and records management platforms. Your work will directly support compliance monitoring, investigations, and enforcement activities, contributing to the effective regulation of water resources in New South Wales.

About You

As the Assessment Support Officer, you will deliver high-quality customer service by acting as the first point of contact for acknowledging receipt of suspicious activity reports, and by responding promptly and professionally to related enquiries. Provide regulatory support to internal stakeholders within the Natural Resources Access Regulator (NRAR), assisting with the coordination and direction of internal referrals. You will support the assessment process by validating incoming information, coordinating the distribution of matters to the next phase of assessment, and monitoring progress against key business performance indicators, while effectively managing a diverse workload, meeting agreed service standards, performance targets, and objectives within tight deadlines and amidst competing priorities.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in providing high quality customer service, and providing a range of clerical, administrative and general support services in a high-volume environment.
  • Appointment is subject to the successful applicant satisfactorily passing the criminal record check.
  • Hold a current NSW Driver's Licence and a willingness to drive to remote locations which may include overnight stays.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Proficiency in the use of technology systems for data entry, records management and reporting with a strong understanding of system-based workflows and information management protocols.
