Due to continued growth, Mader are currently seeking Mechanical Fitters with Wagon Rollingstock maintenance experience to join our Rail team servicing the Gladstone area.

What is the role?

Mechanical Fitting -Rollingstock Maintainer (Wagons)

Roster - Monday to Friday

10hr shifts with opportunities for additional hours when required

Immediate start

Key responsibilities include:

Wagon preventative maintenance, repairs and out of course maintenance

Wagon maintenance in-field, which would typically include unscheduled maintenance, recovery and collision damage work

Heating, cutting activities and welding

Operating mobile plant, equipment, vehicles and lifting equipment within the work area

Wagon movements in the maintenance area as required using fixed and mobile equipment

Fabrication and assembly of components for repair, replacement or modification

Perform train arrival/departure roll by examinations to ensure integrity of rolling stock.

Conducting full mechanical inspections of rolling stock to minimum Railways of Australia engineering standards & practices level.

Essential Criteria:

Proven experience working within a production, trades, fitter or labouring role

Maintenance experience in related industries is desirable

Proven ability to work autonomously and as a part of a team is essential

Forklift and MR Drivers Licences are advantageous

Basic computer skills and general literacy required to carry out daily activities

Trade Certificate –

Cert III - Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) OR

Cert III – Fabrication /Boilermaker (or equivalent)

Shunt qualification

(Partial completion of Cert IV in Train Driving – 12 TLI modules)

Drivers Licence

High Risk Work Licence

National Police Check within 3-6 months or willing to get

Strong commitment towards safety and quality
