We’re passionate about delivering awesome products and exceptional experiences to fellow collectors—and we’re looking for energetic staff to join us for our biggest event of the year: the 2025 Royal Adelaide Show (26 Aug – 10 Sept).

The Opportunity

We’re hiring multiple retail assistants as a fixed-term casual contract to join our Adelaide Show team. This is a fast-paced, fun role for someone who loves engaging with customers and thrives in a busy environment. There’s also potential for ongoing casual work with us after the show for the right candidate, including potential interstate events or warehouse shifts. The working period includes set-up prior to the Show, retail sales during and tear down after the event.

Applicants should consider this as a fixed-term casual contract offering an exciting opportunity to gain referable experience in a retail setting. This role suits anyone from Junior applicants looking for real-life experience, to experienced adults seeking additional work. The potential for ongoing work will be assessed at the end of the Adelaide Show period based on performance and business needs. A legal status to work in Australia as well as a Tax File Number is required.

What You’ll Be Doing

Serving customers and creating a fun, welcoming retail experience

Operating a POS system and handling cash/EFTPOS transactions

Restocking merchandise and maintaining stall presentation

Following safe handling and setup procedures and ensuring the safety of customers

Managing multiple customers efficiently and professionally

Searching internal systems for product info or pricing

Assisting with order picking/packing in a warehouse setting (when needed)

What We’re Looking For

Friendly, confident, and professional attitude

Comfortable standing for 8–12 hours per shift during the show (breaks and seating provided)

Able to follow instructions exactly and accept real-time feedback

Maintain situational awareness without getting easily distracted

Strong time management—knows when to chat and when to move things along

Basic maths skills (for discounts, totals, etc.)

Social media content creation skills also a bonus

Knowledge of Pokémon and/or the Pokemon TCG —including sealed items, singles, pricing, and handling—is highly desirable but not essential

Knowledge of One Piece, Disney, Studio Ghibli etc desirable but not essential

Previous retail, market stall, or warehouse experience is highly desirable

Must be available from 26 August to 10 September

Must attend paid training on 5–6 July

Have reliable access to transport.

What You’ll Get

Award wages under the General Retail Award Level 1, including casual loading, overtime, and super (Base pay scale ranges from $14.43/h for a Junior 16YO to $32.06/h for 21+)
