An opportunity exists for a highly motivated and experienced CNS Orthopaedics Scrub/Scout to work on a permanent full time basis in our Theatres department. Part time will also be considered.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist will apply a high level of clinical nursing knowledge, experience and skills to provide complex nursing care in Lakeview’s Theatre unit. The main responsibilities of the role will include:
Research, analysis, policy development and implementation.
Development of formal education programs and competencies and delivery of programs to staff.
Support to VMO’s and team within a particular specialty area.
Development of a specialty area, trialling of new equipment and costing of cases.
Contribute to maintenance of standards of the nursing care of a specific group of patients within a practice setting.
Manage a minimum of two (2) Quality Improvement Projects per annum relevant to their specialized area of expertise.
Administrative functions to support the unit manager.
Act in the role of the unit manager as required.
To be considered for this role you will need to meet the following criteria:
Understanding of scope of practice in line with relevant registration
At least 12 months experience working in the relevant clinical area of their post-registration qualification; or five years post- registration experience, including three years’ experience in the relevant specialist field.
Ability to assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate care delivery needs of patient
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to work effectively in team environment & independently as required
Excellent time management skills and strong organisational skills
High attention to detail
Commitment to quality, best practice and environmental safety
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
