Be Recruitment is currently seeking passionate and committed Therapeutic Youth Workers to join a dedicated team providing high-quality, trauma-informed care to children and young people with complex needs.

This role is based within a residential care setting and requires candidates with a Diploma-level qualification in Community Services, Youth Work, or a related field — this is non-negotiable.

About the Role
As a Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people who have experienced trauma, abuse, and neglect. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide day-to-day care, model positive behaviours, and contribute to a safe, nurturing, and structured home environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide consistent and therapeutic care to children and young people
• Support daily routines, including hygiene, meals, school, and appointments
• Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using trauma-informed practices
• Promote engagement in recreational and life skills activities
• Contribute to a positive household environment through shared duties such as cleaning and cooking
• Maintain detailed records and incident reports in line with organisational procedures

Essential Criteria

• Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work or similar – mandatory
• Six-monhts of paid experince as a therapeutic youth worker - mandatory
• Full NSW Driver’s Licence
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
• COVID-19 vaccination or valid medical exemption
• Availability to work a rotating roster including days, evenings, weekends and sleepovers
