About Tasmanian Botanics

Tasmanian Botanics is a licensed Australian medicinal cannabis cultivator and manufacturer, dedicated to producing premium cannabinoid-based medicines. We operate across the full value chain—from cultivation and R&D through to manufacturing, sales, and international distribution. Our team is passionate about innovation, quality, and delivering patient outcomes.

Role Overview

The Commercial Operations Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting the Commercial department’s mission to optimise and streamline business functions across research and development, production, sales, and commercialisation. This role is responsible for leading the digital transformation of paper-based production processes into our inventory management system, and for driving data-led planning, reporting, and forecasting initiatives.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with teams across cultivation, manufacturing, quality, and logistics to ensure seamless operational planning, accurate inventory and production tracking, and timely reporting. This is a high-impact role with strong visibility across departments and offers the opportunity to directly influence operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Systems & Process Optimisation

Lead the migration of existing paper-based processes into Elevated Signals.

Update or develop procedural documentation as needed to support new digital workflows and ensure compliance with operational and regulatory standards.

Train internal stakeholders on system usage and best practices.

Leverage a natural affinity for systems thinking to identify process automation and integration opportunities.

Production & Inventory Planning

Assist in developing and maintaining robust production and inventory planning tools.

Monitor production schedules and inventory levels to support operational readiness.

Oversee ageing stock reporting and management, identifying at-risk inventory and collaborating with teams to implement proactive utilisation strategies.

Implement and refine demand forecasting models based on historical and predictive data.

Data Analytics & Reporting

Design, build and maintain operational reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders.

Generate actionable insights through data analysis to support production efficiency, sales forecasting, and commercial planning.

Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across systems.

Utilise tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms to present data in a compelling and business-friendly format.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Act as a liaison between the Commercial department and other functions, especially Cultivation, Manufacturing, and Quality.

Support cross-departmental projects that aim to improve business performance and operational cohesion.

Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience in a data-driven operations, production planning, or supply chain role—preferably in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or agricultural environment.

Strong skills in data manipulation, reporting, and visualisation, with proficiency in Excel and reporting platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar.

Strong analytical skills and a proficiency in Excel and data visualisation/reporting tools.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative mindset.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Desirable Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or a related field.

Experience with inventory or ERP systems highly regarded.
